Autism Awareness Month: Meghan Sinisi
In honor of World Autism Awareness Day, and Autism Acceptance Month, we are featuring Miss Pennsylvania 2021, Meghan Sinisi. See her testimony below on how our scholarships have aided her in advocating for autism acceptance and achieving her educational and career goals! We are incredibly proud of the work Meghan is doing within the autism community!
“Hi there. My name is Meghan Sinisi and I am Miss Pennsylvania 2021. I am also an advocate for autism acceptance and the founder of a nonprofit organization dedicated to serving the autism community.
This Autism Acceptance Month, I want to highlight the incredible ways that The Miss America Foundation has equipped me with the skills, education, and confidence to blaze a trail of inclusion for all.
Through The Miss America Foundation, I have earned over $33,000 in scholarships, including the Women in Business Award at the 100th Anniversary of Miss America. Because of this, I have been able to afford a bachelor’s degree from Syracuse University and a master’s degree from the University of Missouri. Now, I am a speech-language pathologist with dreams of operating an interdisciplinary therapy clinic that serves children on the autism spectrum.
I am so blessed, honored, and grateful to be involved in a program that believes in empowering women through education and community leadership. I hope that you join The Miss America Foundation and I in accepting, respecting, and empowering the autism community through not only your words, but your actions as well. Happy Autism Acceptance Month & thank you to The Miss America Foundation!”
